Brent's biggest concern was the amount of steps right at his porch and wanted to minimize the rise all in one spot. He also wanted lower maintenance plants and to redirect his eaves troughs away from his house. We created various stone walls and significantly raised the height of the entire entrance to lower the rise over the entire area oppose to just the front steps. By doing this it would make it easier for an elderly person to access the front door. We then planted it up with various perennials due to their ease of maintenance. Then the beds were covered with shredded pine mulch to retain the moisture and for some weed control.
